A very productive week both at work and at home. I started reading about possible second home in Florida and explored more music.

002 Newsletter - Jan 18, 2026

It was a pretty busy and productive week for me at work. I accomplished marrying disparate data to create the foundation of a new internal mobility dashboard. I also polished off a real estate dashboard for the Chief People Organization, showing location and people distribution both in the U.S. and internationally. This combines information about space utilization using badge swipes, etc. The Tableau version provides drill-down to a person level.

I started borrowing library books to learn more about purchasing a second home in Florida. We're hoping to visit Davenport next month to get first-hand experience of the homes for sale.

We've Only Just Begun

There was a lot of music in my life last week.

Early one morning, the YouTube algorithm randomly served me a video about how Karen Carpenter's song was built up in multiple layers.

YouTube also shared with me a video about learning piano after 50. I guess learning to play the keyboards is something I had always fantasized about for a long time. My history with this is mentioned in https://www.sebastianantony.com/learning-piano-after-50/

Yesterday I created my third music video in about 45 minutes. Basic steps are described at https://www.sebastianantony.com/caffeine-and-daydreams-quick-music-video/

A tsunami of books

I learned a new word Tsundoku, that describes my habit of collecting books. For the first time in 2 decades, I borrowed several books from the library, including an e-book. In https://www.sebastianantony.com/tsundoku/ I share my current reading and where my love of books comes from...

Gemini for analytics

After seeing a LinkedIn contact share a linear programming example on LinkedIn via his YouTube videos, I found that Google Gemini can easily do the same in under a minute. Google even does sensitivity Analysis. If interested, see https://www.sebastianantony.com/linear-programming/

Gemini for everything

In previous posts, I have mentioned how impressed I have been with Google Gemini. I subscribe to the pro plan at $20/month because of NotebookLM. Nano Banana Pro is absolutely the best image editing software that I currently know of.

I have now gone all-in by taking advantage of Gemini Personal Intelligence. This marries all my photographs over the years, my emails, my Google Calendar etc. to give me personalized recommendations.
