Critical Thinking Assessment
Quiz designed by me using Claude AI and based on Watson-Glaser to rate your Critical Thinking.
I scored 78% - How to YOU compare?

This came about because I was led down a rabbit role after seeing the following video early Fri morning, July 2nd 2026
This video introduces the Watson-Glaser Test Practice Book as a scientifically validated tool for improving critical thinking skills to the level of the top 1% of thinkers. Stephen Petro explains that these skills are discrete and trainable, rather than fixed talents. He details five core critical thinking competencies measured by the assessment:
- Drawing Inferences: Learning to rate claims on a gradient (e.g., 'probably true' vs. 'insufficient data') rather than using binary logic.
- Recognizing Assumptions: Using the 'negation test' to identify hidden, load-bearing assumptions in an argument.
- Deductive Reasoning : Avoiding logical errors like 'affirming the consequent' by ensuring conclusions follow necessarily from provided premises.
- Interpreting Information: Evaluating whether data actually supports a conclusion, accounting for nuances like scalability and volume.
- Evaluating Arguments : Distinguishing strong, relevant arguments from weak, trivial, or tangential ones.
Next, I then used NotebookLM by referencing 26 sources on this topic. For me, the study guides and flash-cards are the quickest way to get a grasp on a new topic. Here is a Slide Deck that NotebookLM created. Click thumbnails for a larger view...
I also asked ChatGPT to do deep research on the topic. One of the sources it found was a sample test: https://www.pearsonvue.com/content/dam/VUE/vue/en/documents/clients/phnro/wg_practice.pdf
I fed this to Claude and asked it to create the interactive test. Claude said this is obviously copyrighted, but it created similar new questions, which is the test displayed above.
